An Amazing Week

Oak Class have had an amazing week, packed full of exciting events.

Monday was our class trip to Butterfly World. We spent time outside examining and identifying some of the residents of the Bug Hotel and then filled small pots with fleece and hay to help complete the hotel with cosy bug hiding places. Then we had a very informative talk and walk around inside the butterfly house where we saw dozens of beautiful butterflies, big and small. We all learned lots of interesting facts. After lunch we had free time to explore the rest of the farm park – lots to see including the otters, meercats and Rigby the Racoon.

On Tuesday afternoon we had our Ugly Bug Ball. We prepared some delicious ‘bug themed’ snacks including strawberry ladybirds, celery and grape caterpillars and dragonfly cupcakes. Parents came to see all our fabulous minibeast topic work and had fun joining in our craft sessions, making peg butterflies, minibeast pebbles, bug masks and finger puppets.

As this week was our school Enterprise Week, Oak Class have also been very busy making lots of amazing crafts which we sold at the Enterprise Market on Thursday afternoon. We made beautiful dreamcatchers, fabulous fish tiles and decorated our own gift boxes. We sold these along with some surprise seed pops which we hope will all grow into beautiful flowers! We made a grand total of £105.15 from our sales, which is a wonderful achievement. A big thank you to everyone who came along and purchased from our stall.

Well done Oak Class for all your hard work, have a wonderful half term holiday.
